Megastar Chiranjeevi has a massive update for his fans on Vishwambhara, his eagerly awaited socio-fantasy epic. In a special video message released on social media on Thursday, the actor said the film would grace theatres worldwide in summer 2026.

Besides announcing the film's release, Chiranjeevi delighted fans by unveiling the teaser a day before his 70th birthday. The creators of his eagerly awaited fantasy action movie, Vishwambhara, gave fans a first look. It features Chiranjeevi in an action-packed, life-sized avatar.

The teaser is a powerful, evocative preview that transports viewers to a fantastical, action-packed universe. It begins with frightening images of masked soldiers besieging the defenceless, scorpions scuttling across upturned dunes, and potent religious symbols like the Shiva Linga. The montage abruptly ends with Chiranjeevi clutching a severed eyeball, shocking and enthralling viewers as it shows him capturing a war scene.

Initially slated for release in January 2025, the movie has been delayed to give time for elaborate visual effects. Chiranjeevi previously acknowledged the film's significant use of visual effects.

The actor stated that the entire "second half depends on VFX and graphics, so the team is going beyond their limits to ensure that the audience gets the best visual spectacle possible."

He further added that Vishwambhara is meant to appeal to both adults and children by evoking nostalgia through its 'chandamama kathalu'-style tale. The storyline of the film attempts to bridge generational gaps by providing something for everyone, as reported by India Today.

“This movie is for the whole family to enjoy … it will enchant children and rekindle the child within every adult,” Chiranjeevi reassured, comparing its narrative to the beloved Chandamama stories of the past.

This Telugu fantasy action film, written and directed by Mallidi Vassishta and produced by UV Creations, features Ashika Ranganath, Kunal Kapoor, and Trisha Krishnan in primary roles. Vishwambhara is set to be one of the most highly anticipated Telugu releases of 2026.
